Mrs. Lopez
Mrs. Lopez is a teacher who is passionate about students’ learning, progress and growth. She creates a fun learning environment; one where learning is brought to life. During a recent telephone call a one of her homeroom mothers stated, “We are very happy with the school and to our sons teacher for helping us. Our son also received an award at the last assembly. Mrs. Lopez is an excellent teacher.” Mrs. Lopez has been a teacher at Freeman for 14 years and she loves it here.
Mrs. Lopez was born in Willows, California, and her family relocated to Zacatecas, Mexico a short time after birth. When she was only 7 years old, her father decided to return to California. Having limited knowledge of the English language she studied and excelled in school; eventually graduating from California State University, Sacramento.
While she was in high school Mrs. Lopez tutored students. “I did a little bit of tutoring while in high school but I really knew that I wanted to be a teacher when I was in college and participated in the Mini-Corps program,” remarked Mrs. Lopez. She considers herself lucky to be at Freeman. “There’s a lot of great stuff here at Freeman. The way that teachers help each other is very positive. The growth that students make is amazing.”
Her family consists of her husband, Victor, and her two children Omar and Alan. Both children are prolific readers. Mrs. Lopez loves spending time with her family. They attend the park or mall, and love anything outdoors. She enjoys traveling to Mexico, and even went to Jalisco last year for a month and a half.
Her biggest message to students is to “Always do your best and never give up. Eventually your hard work will pay off.” Mrs. Lopez sets a great example of perseverance as she was the first one in her family to graduate from college. Her favorite quote is by Benjamin Frankilin, “"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Our students are fortunate to have Mrs. Lopez as their teacher. La Sra. López es una maestra que es apasionada de la enseñanza, el progreso y el crecimiento de los estudiantes. Cuando tenía sólo 7 años de edad , su padre decidió volver a California. Ella tenia un conocimiento limitado del idioma del Inglés que estudió y a traves de esto sobresalió en la escuela; finalmente graduandose de la Universidad Estatal de California, Sacramento.
Mientras estaba en la preparatoria la Sra. López tutoría a los estudiantes . "Hice un poco de tutoría en la preparatoria , pero yo sabía que quería ser maestra cuando estaba en la universidad y participé en el programa de Mini -Corps ", comentó la Sra. López. Ella se considera afortunada de estar en Freeman. "Hay un montón de cosas grandes aquí en Freeman. La forma en que los maestros ayudan a los demás es muy positivo. El crecimiento que los estudiantes hacen es increíble " .
Su familia está compuesta por su marido , Víctor, y sus dos hijos Omar y Alan . Sus niños son lectores prolíficos . La Sra. López le encanta pasar tiempo con su familia. Asisten el parque o un centro comercial , y disfruten de estar afuera . A la maestra le gusta viajar a México , se fue a Jalisco el año pasado por un mes y medio.
Su mayor mensaje a los estudiantes es que " siempre des lo mejor de ti y nunca te rindas . Con el tiempo su trabajo duro dará los frutos . " La Sra.
