Principal's Message
Dear Freeman Learning Community,
Welcome to Freeman Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year! I cannot wait to see the students' smiling faces on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 12th.
I am truly honored to be the principal at Freeman, and I am grateful to get to work with such a caring and supportive community, teachers, and staff who are beyond the best at their jobs. I look forward to building on the relationships we created last year and getting to know our new Falcons and their families.
As always, our devoted professional staff has already begun planning and preparing for the arrival of our Falcons. Our top-notch staff is connecting with new families, ordering needed materials, and updating student files. Our hard-working, conscientious custodial staff have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facility, and our amazing and much-appreciated Booster Club is gearing up to welcome families and offer other exciting events and programs. We warmly invite family members to get involved this year—whether by joining the Booster Club, School Site Council, ELAC, volunteering at school events, or participating in classroom activities. Your support and involvement help make Freeman a vibrant and welcoming community for all.
At Freeman, we want every child to feel confident, challenged, and cared for. Our main goals are to make sure your student is ready for whatever the future holds, whether that means college, a career, or their own personal dreams. We focus on helping each child grow both academically and emotionally, and we believe in supporting all students, including our English learners, in ways that recognize and build on their individual strengths. One example of this commitment is our after-school enrichment program, where students can explore subjects they love and build new skills with the encouragement of their teachers and peers. We also want our students to have a voice in their school experience, so we offer leadership opportunities, like the Youth Advisory Committee, where kids can share ideas and help shape our school community.
As we move through the 2025-26 school year, I kindly ask that you commit to reading our weekly newsletter, as it will contain important information. The newsletter will be sent to families via Parent Square each Sunday and will also be available on our school website.
Please do your best to stay connected with all things Freeman. There are several ways you can stay informed and engaged: check our school website and Parent Square for updates, follow us on social media, read our weekly newsletter, and attend parent meetings and school events throughout the year.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out by email or phone. I'm excited to continue partnering with you to create a school year filled with kindness, curiosity, and deeper learning for every student.
Let's make it a fantastic year together!
Warmly,
Steven Brown
